Pan MexicoPan MexicoThe Pan American Games are a multi-sport event faced every 4 years participants from all countries organized by the American Sports Organization Pan-American (PASO). This time, the Pan American Games were held from 14th to 30th October, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico.

Official logoOfficial logoTaking advantage of the wave of sportsmanship that generated the Pan-American environment, the Mexican Federation of Fitness (Activate Mexico) in conjunction with the Commission National Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) launched a new initiative for the first time in history a few competitive games of this magnitude took place.
This initiative was called Activate Pan.

Objective

Activate Pan aimed to encourage physical activity habits public of fair and competitive local population by promoting so comprehensive benefits of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and adherence to behavior patterns through various physical activities and recreational type.

Development

PosterPosterThe initiative was launched on October 14 in the heat of the Pan American Games Guadalajara 2011, conducting activities within the sports and the most popular local parks.

The activity consisted of a board interactive or "board game" giant, in where people and activities were the chips and each box had to make a physical challenge and a question or answer related to physical activity and its habits.

One of the most outstanding was the interactive whiteboard within the scenarios sports stadiums. the activations began with the stadium assets divided in two or three groups which were represented by the official mascots (Huchi, Leo and Gabo) Pan American Games Guadalajara 2011. Botargas subsequently threw the dice and advancing the boxes commensurate with the number who had obtained a card reading activator activity and with the team mascot representing the activity performed without leaving your place.

Some of the complexes where activities were:

  • Basketball Dome
  • Volleyball Complex
  • Athletic Stadium

Some public places were:

  • Archery Complex
  • Hockey Stadium
  • Aquatic Centre Scotia bank
  • Metropolitan Park
  • Esplanade Basilica of Zapopan

Besides the interactive board took physical activities where through professional rhythmic dance routines and activities to the viewers.

Results

Through Activate Pan American Initiative was achieved turn over 45,000 visitors and locals throughout the sporting event, accumulating more than 7.500 hours of activity.

Was achieved with the first day of realization of the organization of Pan included as animation activity within the complex sporting events.

Conclusion

Activate Pan was a success and a new way to bring viewers sportsmanship infected with a taste of physical activity, breaking the scheme that the viewer is watching passively.

Activate Pan hope is a role model within the international competitions such as Olympics, World Cups, Pan, and others, thus achieving a rapprochement of physical activity to more people.

Just saying it was such a success Activate Pan in the early days of the competitive fair the organizers of the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American start looking for include activation as part of the entertainment daily stages as the public requested it.
